National Massage Therapy Awareness Week
October 25 - 31, 2009
AMTA's National Massage Therapy Awareness Week, celebrated this year during the week of October 25 - 31, is an annual event designed to raise public understanding and awareness about the benefits of massage therapy. It is a vehicle for the massage therapy profession to educate our communities and allow them to experience bodywork first-hand.
Regular massage therapy can have a positive effect on your emotional and physical well-being. It can decrease muscle pain, boost the immune system, enhance athletic performance, and reduce tension headaches. Click here to view a more extensive list of benefits, as well as a list of conditions massage therapy is indicated for.
Seated Massage Events
This year, The Art of Health, LLC will bring awareness to the profession by performing complimentary seated massage for seniors at The Fountains at Washington House, as well as to residents of The Delancey at Shirlington Village.
